2018-19 Season - Planned Website & Travel Tryouts Reg Changes

Beginning with the 2018-19 season, the Farmington Soccer Club (FSC) will be adopting a new Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) mandated company (Blue Star Sports) to facilitate the local, state and US Soccer registration process as well as implement enhanced background checks for coaches and volunteers.  Our club will also be using this opportunity to transition in full from our current website provider (League Athletics) to the new provider which will enhance the member experience.

Additional Information:

  1. This transition will take place in three phases:
  • Phase 1 – Complete the spring 2018 season using the current website provider (LA) (April/May/June)
  • Phase 2 – Establish & complete the 2018-19 fall/spring Travel Team tryout registration, team assignments for players offered positions and coaches/volunteer registrations using the new provider (BSS). (April/May/June)
  • Phase 3 – Shut down the old website at the end of the season and begin using the new website for all club activities. (July)
  1. Member Access:
  • Current website (LA) - No change for current users.
  • New website (BSS) - A new profile, ID & password will be required in order to register for tryouts and complete coaches/volunteers registrations.
  1. Benefits:
  • Streamlined processing of information from the club level to CJSA & US Soccer which will aid in the creation of player passes.
  • Players will be assigned a single US soccer ID which will follow them through their soccer careers beyond the upcoming season and our club.
  • The registration process will eliminate the need to secure/display legally required info/forms – medical info, concussion awareness, etc. as these will be included in the registration process.
  • The new site has features that will allow other participating clubs to sign up for our Bernie Ward Labor Day tournament with the touch of a button.
  • Enhanced background checks for coaches & volunteers.
  • New & improved online & mobile capabilities for our members.
  1. Other Information:
  • These changes do not impact Recreation Team players.  We will continue to use the Town of Farmington to register players and assign teams for this season.
  • We will provide a link from the current website (LA) to the new website (BSS) to facilitate the 2018-19 Travel Team Tryout registration process.  This will require a new/separate & unique ID and profile. We will not be transferring existing data.
  1. Questions:
  • Please use the ‘Contacts’ link to direct your question and we will respond as soon as possible.

Thank you,

The Farmington Soccer Club (FSC)

Help Fund Farmington Soccer Club's New Turf Field

With a reputation as one of the best soccer programs in the Northeast, the Farmington Soccer Club is pleased to announce the approval and implementation of a new artificial turf field at Tunxis Mead Park.  Expanding upon what are known to be the best natural grass fields in Connecticut, the addition of a new multi-season soccer-specific training and competition field will enhance the soccer experience in Farmington.  Construction has started and we are looking for your support as we build a top of the line high, performance playing field for players to enjoy for many years to come. Field Specifications: Click Here

November 30, 2017

Dear Friends of Farmington Soccer:

After trying for 13 years the town has finally agreed to give the club the approval to turn Tunxis Mead Field 8 into an artificial turf field! The work has already started and they are slightly ahead of schedule, however, what started out as a $500,000 project has escalated to $760,000 due to the fact that the field is located on wetlands and has to be raised 4 feet to satisfy the government's 100 year flood standards. Also, we needed to implement the highest standards in the quality of construction so the products used in the installation for Field 8 will be the same that are used at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough MA.

We have needed a turf field for a long time and through the efforts of many people who have supported the club in the past and the success of the Labor Day Tournament, we are able to pay for the majority of the installation of the field. Thanks to the generosity of Coach Peter Setlow who has agreed to donate $100,000 we are able to make this wonderful field happen without receiving any financial support from the town.  However, due to the higher cost of construction, we still need your help to make this field a reality since all funding needs to come through the Farmington Soccer Club.

To complete our project we need the support of friends like you so the new artificial turf field will be ready for the spring of 2018. Therefore, please consider making a donation in any amount to the Farmington Soccer Club to help provide better facilities to thousands of kids in town today as well as children who have yet to play the game. We are a 501 c Tax Exempt organization so all donations are Tax deductible and should be sent to

Farmington Soccer Club, C/O Al Bell, 18 Fox Road, Plainville, CT 06062.

Contributions can also be made online: Click Here to contribute to the new turf field.  We will acknowledge all contributions unless otherwise requested.  If you would like the contribution to be made on behalf of your family please complete the credit card process online and then send me an e-mail.

If you have any questions, please call me at 860-306-6822 or e-mail at  ,

Sincerely

Al
